Austria's foremost international art fair distinguished itself as a singular platform, serving as a connecting bridge between the contemporary art spheres of Western and Eastern Europe. It provided a canvas for unexpected perspectives and artistic revelations, making it a focal point for connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike. Among its annual highlights, the 'ZONE1' initiative shone brightly, spotlighting emerging young Austrian talent. Additionally, the thought-provoking 'VCT STATEMENT: Political Homelessness and Contemporary Citizenship' program delved deeply into the complex notion of belonging in today's Europe, with its associated exhibition, "Not Either Or, But And," elegantly displayed at 'das weisse haus' until the 21st of October. A noteworthy development was the establishment of 'VCT ACTIVATION,' an enduring collaboration with Meta and the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts (MAK), and within the framework of 'VCT SCULPTURE,' the ethereal artwork by Carola Dertnig / CRONE graced the garden premises of Kursalon, a captivating presence throughout the year.
With a captivating selection of contemporary art, a rich tapestry of supporting events, engaging dialogues, and expertly guided tours, viennacontemporary reaffirmed Vienna's central position within the global art landscape, ensuring it remained an artistic nexus of unparalleled significance.
